The Human Unity Gateway (HUG) Foundation began in 2008 with a simple yet powerful mission: to bring love, support, and opportunity to children and teens who needed it most. It started with two local orphanages—Saint Peter’s Orphanage in Denville and the Plaid House in Morristown, NJ—both serving adolescents whose families, for various reasons, could not care for them.

These young souls, full of potential, rarely had the chance to step beyond the walls of their facilities and experience the world in a way that could ignite their dreams. With the generous support of donors and volunteers, we made it our mission to change that. We organized enriching field trips, self-development events, and opportunities for them to see and believe in a future filled with possibility.

But our journey didn’t stop there. As we saw the impact of mentorship, education, and connection, we knew our purpose was bigger. Over the years, HUG has grown beyond its humble beginnings, expanding our reach to mentor and empower both teens and adults—helping them find their voice, step into their personal power, and create lives rooted in love, purpose, and self-worth.

What began as a way to bring hope to a few has become a movement to uplift many. And we are just getting started.
